Grooving, Parting and Turning with 4 Cutting Edges with Chip Former

Ingersoll is pleased to officially introduce Gold-Flex, the new product line that features a 4-edged insert for multifunctional operations. Suitable for grooving, parting, lateral turning and chamfer machining, Gold-Flex provides excellent performance, repeatability and economy.

Gold-Flex inserts feature a high-positive chip former that enables machining in multiple applications while providing excellent chip control in plunging and lateral turning operations. The result is excellent surface finish as the chips are broken and moved away from the work piece.

The clamping system features a side torx screw and 3 contact points for stability and durability under demanding machining conditions. Insert indexing and changing is simple and accurate, and combined with the 4 cutting edge feature makes Gold-Flex an economical and efficient tooling system. This unique clamping design also protects the cutting edges that are not in use. Thus, if one or more of the edges are broken, the insert can simply be indexed to a new edge without adversely affecting the insert seating position.

Gold-Flex is available in widths from .020” to .125” (.5mm - 3.18mm). Lead angles and full radius inserts are also available as standard items. All inserts are available in grade TT9080, a versatile grade suitable for machining a wide variety of materials.

Hi-QuadF, New High-Feed Quad Cutters

Ingersoll Cutting Tools introduces the Hi-QuadF™ high-feed milling family. This innovative and highly versatile cutter line is offered with a 13mm and 19mm IC quad-style insert. The insert provides 4 cutting edges with a choice of 8 different advanced technology cutting edge geometries. Premium insert grades coupled with optimal edge preparations ensure long tool life even under the most demanding applications across the widest range of materials. The maximum depth of cut ranges from .088" for the 13mm IC insert to .145" for the 19mm IC insert.

The positive axial insert orientation creates the high-shear, free-cutting nature of this new high-feed cutter line. Chip thinning is leveraged to a factor of 5X when calculating feed rates. Cutter performance and insert seating stability are assured due to a new robust insert screw design securing the insert in the pocket.

T-Micro system for small internal diameters!

Ingersoll Cutting Tools introduces the T-Micro system specifically designed for the machining of very small internal diameters. The T-Micro system is a 2-piece design, consisting of a sleeve and replaceable carbide inserts. Applications include grooving, profiling, chamfering, face grooving/deep face grooving, threading, and back turning starting at .024” (.6mm). The inserts feature coolant thru capabilities and are available in grade TT9030, a submicron substrate with PVD-TiAlN coating, making them the perfect solution for all miniature internal applications.


Inside the new T-Micro sleeve design is a locating pin to ensure repeatability when indexing the inserts. This allows operators to return to machining without resetting the tool. The locating pin also allows operators to replace inserts without removing the sleeve from the tool post. The T-Micro sleeve also features an angular clamping design to avoid interference when replacing the insert allowing simplified tool change on Swiss-type and other multi-spindle lathes. Ingersoll offers this sleeve in many shank sizes .500”, .625”, .750”, and 1.00” also 12mm, 14mm, 16mm, 20mm, 22mm, and 25mm to accommodate all machines.

S-Max Strength - High-Feed Productivity!

Ingersoll Cutting Tools introduces the SP6H/SP6N series of S-Max High Feed face mills. A unique combination of robust edge strength and high feed capability provides a hybrid approach to your metal cutting needs.

The high feed capability is made possible by an aggressive 80° lead angle which provides extreme (5X) chip thinning while maintaining a smooth, stable cut. S-Max High Feed features ramping capability with an aggressive depth of cut of up to .120” and the economy of 4 indexes in two insert sizes.

Medium density cutters are available for steel applications and high density cutters with coolant/air through the tool are available for Titanium/Hi-Temp alloys.

The Next Generation of Indexable Drills

Ingersoll Cutting Tools is proud to announce the release of Quad-TwistTM, the next generations of indexable drills. This new engineering process was designed to satisfy a growing market demand for flexibility and excellent performance.

The true four-cornered insert can be used in both the inboard and outboard pockets, reducing inventory and cost. Ideally configured cutting edges provide optimum chip control, minimizing cutting forces and ensuring excellent machining performance in carbon and alloy steel as well as difficult-to-machine materials, including low carbon and mild steel.

The body’s prominent flute design with twisted internal coolant holes ensures smooth chip evacuation and machining stability.

Pro-Trio™ 3-Effective Ball Nose

Ingersoll’s new Pro-Trio line of ball nose contour roughers employs a 3-effective flute ball nose configuration for increased productivity and incorporates double-sided insert technology for more indexes. The Pro-Trio excels at copy, channel and deep pocket machining.

The robust dovetail clamping system for the ball nose inserts ensures extra insert stability. Side cutting insert stations add greater application flexibility when side milling. Pro-Trio provides faster feed rates, higher material removal rates, increased reliability and greater economy.

High-Feed with Six Edges!

Ingersoll’s Form-MasterR offers the latest roughing technology for Die/Mold application. Economical, double-sided inserts are available in two distinct styles: round and serrated.

Both offer free-cutting geometry and an anti-rotation clamping system, but the serrated style expands the tools’ application range to include extended-reach operations and high temperature alloys. The serrations also provide increased stability on the cut and enhanced chip management.

Through-the-tool coolant is standard on both end mills and face mills.

Form-MasterR™ Die/Mold Roughing

Ingersoll’s Form-MasterR offers the latest roughing technology for Die/Mold application. Economical, double-sided inserts are available in two distinct styles: round and serrated.

Both offer free-cutting geometry and an anti-rotation clamping system, but the serrated style expands the tools’ application range to include extended-reach operations and high temperature alloys. The serrations also provide increased stability on the cut and enhanced chip management.

Through-the-tool coolant is standard on both end mills and face mills.

High-Precision Ball Nose End Mill

Ingersoll’s new high precision Finish-Ball™ indexable, fine milling, ball nose end mill tooling line features an ultra-stable clamping system with excellent repeatability.

A unique coolant delivery system enables coolant (or air blast) to be delivered precisely to the cutting edge for exceptional performance and productivity on a wide range of materials from general purpose and Die and Mold applications to high temperature alloy aerospace applications.

A complete range of cutter diameters in both inch and metric sizes are in stock along with standard, extended length and modular style shanks that complement the available grades and geometries.

EvoTec-Max 2SJ3J Shell Mill

Series 2SJ3J shell mills feature a right-hand helix and full-effective design. The stable, tangential design provides an economical and reliable solution for side milling applications. Four cutting edges with high positive axial and radial geometry provide stable entry into the cut and an extremely smooth cutting action for maximum chip volume.

The cutter series features an internal coolant supply to ensure optimum chip removal. Large insert seating surface allow the primary land on the reinforced cutting edge to withstand maximum cutting forces under extreme manufacturing conditions.

Typical applications include side milling in light- to medium-duty milling to a 90° shoulder, as well as deep channeling with high horsepower machines under stable conditions.

Black-Rush™. The Best Solution for Gray & Ductile Cast Iron Machining

Ingersoll has introduced Black-Rush™, a new series of cast iron ISO turning grades. CVD-coated grades TT7005 and TT7015 feature a stable substrate, strengthened coating layer and special post-coat treatment. The result is exceptional chipping resistance thanks to the superior bond between the substrate and the coating layer.

All Black-Rush inserts feature a new coating technology that maximizes hardness while providing thermal stability, an important consideration when machining cast iron especially at high cutting speeds. Following this coating process, a special surface treatment is applied that greatly reduces friction, cutting force and build-up on the insert cutting edge. The result is stable and consistent tool life and an excellent surface finish on the work piece.

TT7005 provides maximum wear resistance making it the ideal choice for both gray and ductile cast iron in high speed applications, while TT7015 delivers excellent all-around performance in these same materials while adding additional toughness for continuous to interrupted turning applications.
