The Quik-Twist drill body can be used for many index cycles of the replaceable drill points. The number of drill point indexes is dependent on the machine rigidity, workpiece stability and clamping, machining parameters, workpiece configuration, material, coolant, coolant pressure, and proper drill application.

In order to identify the minimum drill point clamping force required for reliable drilling performance, a special torque key has been developed for checking the drill body.

If a click is not heard or felt while slowly unclamping the drill point with the torque key, the drill body must be replaced.
